SETUP GUIDE
Your first connection.
Start with the service you bought. Keep your order email and connection details nearby.

Copy your connection details.
You need the proxy host, port, username and password. Use the endpoint from your delivered access details or the selected account in your Poof dashboard.
Choose your session and location.
In Accounts → Generate proxies, choose rotating or sticky, then a country or region if needed. Leaving both at All applies no location target. Targeting availability can vary; a sticky session is not a guarantee of a permanent IP.
Use the matching format.
Choose the protocol your tool supports and copy the generated connection. Keep its host and port together. Use separate username and password fields if your app asks for them.
Try one request
Replace every uppercase placeholder with your connection details. This example uses an HTTP proxy to reach an HTTPS page.
curl --proxy "http://HOST_FROM_YOUR_ORDER:PORT_FROM_YOUR_ORDER" \
--proxy-user "YOUR_USERNAME:YOUR_PASSWORD" \
--max-time 30 \
https://example.com
Use the protocol and port supplied with your connection. Keep commands containing real credentials private.
Check remaining GB and daily usage under the account. Use Bandwidth to compare all linked residential accounts.

Open the service dashboard in your order.
Sign in with the delivered service login. This is where you retrieve the current proxy list for your selected pool.
Copy a connection into your tool.
Follow the list’s protocol and authentication instructions. The service-dashboard login and a proxy endpoint are different things.
Test a small request first.
Confirm the connection works with your destination before running a larger job. The pool is shared; its listed IP count is not a simultaneous-connection limit.
Datacenter access does not provide the residential bandwidth reports or residential generator. Refer to your delivery for the access term and service controls.

Find your assigned port.
Use the host, port, protocol and login details in your delivery. Each assigned port has its own connection details.
Add it to your app.
Enter the supplied fields in your tool’s proxy settings, then make a small test request.
Keep track of the access term.
Check your delivered expiry and rotation instructions. Use only the locations, protocols and rotation controls included with that port.
WHEN SOMETHING DOESN’T CONNECT
A few quick checks.
My tool reports an authentication error.
Check the complete username and password, including any generated session or location modifiers. Then confirm the proxy protocol and port. Use the delivered proxy credentials, which can differ from a website or service-dashboard login.
The target returns HTTP 403 or 429.
The destination denied or rate-limited the request. That response does not establish that your proxy password is wrong. Compatibility and access depend on the destination and your tool.
The connection times out or reports a TLS error.
Check the host, protocol, port and destination URL. Start with one request and fewer concurrent connections. In Poof’s Proxy checker, use a public HTTP or HTTPS target; redirects are reported without being followed.
Still stuck? Send the error and your order reference.
